These conditions of sale apply to all reservations made at Hôtel Le Portillo by individual customers of legal age, for the rental of rooms.

These conditions also apply to bookings made via a partner (travel agent, tour operator, booking websites other than www.leportillo.com), with the exception of the booking and cancellation conditions specific to them.

Price

Unless otherwise specified, the prices indicated in the various brochures and advertisements, and displayed in the hotel and in the rooms, are based on a minimum stay of two to five days, depending on the period of stay:

From 15 November 2024 to 20 December 2024 2 nights minimum
From 20 to 28 December 2024 4 nights minimum
From 28 December 2024 to 04 January 2025 5 nights minimum
From 04 January to 14 February 2025 4 nights minimum
From 15 February to 08 March 2025 5 nights minimum
From 08 March to 12 April 2025 4 nights minimum
From 12 to 19 April 2025 2 nights minimum

Prices are indicative and cannot be used as a reference in the event of a dispute.

The price includes:

  • breakfast
  • WI-FI connection
  • service and VAT

No refund will be given for failure to eat one or more breakfasts.

Tourist tax

The rates quoted by the hotel do not include tourist tax. This must be paid in addition at the time of departure. For information, this tax is €2.53 per night per person aged 18 and over (until 31 December 2024) then €2.64 from 01 January 2025.

The amount of the tourist tax may vary according to the legal provisions in force, and the hotel will automatically pass on any variation in this tax, without this giving rise to any claim whatsoever.

Similarly, any official change in VAT will automatically be reflected in the sale prices.

Although every effort is made to ensure that the photographs, graphics and texts reproduced to illustrate the Résidence Le Portillo give as accurate an idea as possible of the accommodation offered, variations may occur, particularly due to changes in furniture or possible renovations. The Customer may not make any claim as a result.

Room types & beds

The hotel offers several types of rooms.

For a preference in terms of bed layout, the customer must make a request at the time of booking and subject to availability.

We do not have Twin rooms, so double rooms with 2 separate beds are not available.

Baby cot: this must be requested at the time of booking and will be confirmed afterwards. We only have 2 baby cots for children up to 18 months.

Booking

Reservations can only be made via our website. We do not have a booking office.

Our website www.leportillo.com provides real-time availability and prices. When you make a booking on our website, you will receive a standard confirmation email sent automatically summarizing your order. A reservation implies acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

No flat number will be confirmed at this stage, as flats are allocated at the discretion of the Residence.

Pets

Pets are no longer permitted in the Résidence Le Portillo.

Payment

The stay must be paid for 60 days before arrival. All other services provided by the Residence (extras) must be paid for no later than the day of departure. To this end, a credit card guarantee is required on arrival to cover the costs of the stay.

No credit will be granted.

The following methods of payment are accepted:

  • Credit card: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Bancontact
  • Cash, up to a limit of €1,000 per room per stay
  • Bank transfer, provided that the funds arrive before the departure date

Payments by holiday vouchers or bank cheques (or luncheon vouchers for any extra catering) are not accepted.

Cancellation

All cancellations must be made online, using the booking confirmation received on the day of booking. You can contact reception on +33(0)4.79.00.00.88 for assistance.

Cancellation is free if made 60 days before arrival. After this date, the reservation cannot be canceled free of charge. The entire stay is due and non-refundable.

Cancellation by the hotel

In the event that the room booked is not available, Hotel Le Portillo undertakes to offer a room of a higher category than the one booked, at no extra charge and without compensation.

In the event of Hotel Le Portillo being closed, all reservations will be canceled and stays refunded.

Shorter stay

Any stay begun must be paid for in full.

If the stay is interrupted, the full amount of the stay remains the property of the establishment. Similarly, the total amount of the stay booked is due in full. Early departures and services not taken up by the customer, for whatever reason, do not entitle the customer to any refund or reduction. The balance of the stay, including extras, will be invoiced in full.

Registration / Check-in

Reception is open every day, except between 12pm and 2.30pm and 10pm and midnight. During these hours, an on-call person is available on request.

To obtain the keys to the flat, guests must:

  • Show valid identification
  • Pay a deposit by credit card or in cash, ranging from €300 to €600 depending on the size of the flat
  • Sign the rental conditions

Failing this, Le Portillo may refuse to provide the service booked and cancel the booking, at the customer’s expense (100% of the stay due).

In the case of a customer who has not made a reservation, in addition to the above list, 100% prepayment of the stay will be required.

Maximum occupancy

In the event that the number of people staying in the room is greater than that indicated in the confirmation of stay, Le Portillo may, in compliance with the safety standards of each room:

  • accept one or more extra people in the flat initially booked, at an additional cost to be paid on the spot
  • offer a larger flat, at an additional cost
  • offer an additional flat, at an additional cost
  • and, in the absence of availability, Le Portillo may refuse the stay of persons not included in the initial reservation

The customer accepts and undertakes to use the flat and communal areas provided in a reasonable and respectful manner.

Individual behavior and house rules

Any behavior which contravenes the principles of safety, hygiene, public decency or which disrupts public order may lead the hotel to ask the customer to leave the establishment, without refund. In any event, no noise after 10pm will be tolerated at Le Portillo.

Any damage caused by the guest or the occupants of the hotel during their stay must be reported to reception and the cost of repair or replacement will be charged to the guest.

If offenses or damage are found after departure, the amount of compensation will be debited from the customer’s bank card.

The Hotel reserves the right not to accept or to terminate a guest’s stay, without any refund, in the event of indecent or negligent dress, noisy or improper behavior towards other guests or our staff, or excessive alcohol consumption.

Arrival and departure times

Rooms are made available to guests from 3pm on the day of arrival. They must be vacated by 11am at the latest on the day of departure. If guests wish to keep their rooms after 11am, they must request this from reception at least one day beforehand. Late check-out will only be granted if hotel availability permits. Any departure between 11am and 3pm will be charged €50, after which the night will be charged in full.

Children

Those responsible for children are asked to supervise their behavior. Any incident caused by a child will engage the responsibility of the adult in charge, who will also have to pay for any order placed by the child under his/her responsibility.

Luggage

The Portillo does not have luggage storage.

Parking

The Portillo does not have a car park. Temporary parking is tolerated while luggage is loaded on arrival and departure. However, parking is only permitted in municipal car parks, as Val Thorens is a semi-pedestrian resort.

Ski locker

Ski lockers on level -1 are available and compulsory. Ski equipment is not permitted in the flats, even on the balconies. Failure to comply with this rule will result in penalties being deducted from the security deposit.

Video surveillance

The hotel is equipped with a video surveillance system to ensure the safety of the premises and its occupants.

Key

Only one key per flat will be given to guests during their stay. This must be left on the notice board when guests are outside. The key must not leave the residence, to avoid it being lost.

If the key is nevertheless lost by the customer, a compensation of 100€ will be charged.

No smoking

In accordance with the law of 1 January 2008, the entire Residence is non-smoking. Please respect this restriction in the flats too. If you smoke in your room, you will be charged a flat rate of €80 per day to cover the cost of cleaning the carpets and fabrics and to eliminate the smell of tobacco for subsequent occupants. Please do not throw cigarette butts out of windows or over balconies.

Insurance

The hotel has taken out civil liability insurance with GENERALI in Moutiers, covering bodily injury and property damage to customers as a result of its operations, for the entire duration of the stay.

Handling claims and disputes

Any complaint relating to a service must be sent by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt to Hôtel Le Portillo. Any dispute concerning the interpretation or performance of the contract which cannot be settled amicably shall be brought before the Albertville Commercial Court.

Any recovery costs shall be borne by the customer.

Children

Cleaning

End-of-stay cleaning is not included in the price. Guests are required to clean the flat before departure. This cleaning includes: removing the sheets from the beds and putting them together with the towels in the bathroom, emptying the rubbish bins in the outside containers opposite the Portillo entrance, emptying any leftover food, emptying the dishwasher, putting the clean crockery away in the cupboards, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom worktops, vacuuming the floors throughout the flat. A cleaning company will disinfect the flats and make up the beds, but under no circumstances will our service provider have to clean the flat.

Cleaning services are available to our customers at an additional cost: from €100 to €250 depending on the type of flat. This service must be booked with reception at least the day before departure.
